Here is a song written by Brittney Mitchell and passed along by her sister Kinsy inspired by finding Tommy.
Lost (Find Tommy Hecht)
Lyrics By Brittney Mitchell
We move together, but the hollow grows
Hearts fight the nether, as our actions rose
The echo of your light is everywhere
We’ll follow every spark until you flare
We always wander; our feet will roam
But you’ll find you’re always home
With every step, breath, pulse that we are making
The moment we are waking
You always live through us
Now, don’t stop fighting – we’re beside you
Keep the strength inside you
And with your eyes, you will find us soon
‘Cause we are lost here without you
Recite the moments when we held you last
Rewrite the seconds that became so vast
We will never give in
Your strength ignites from within
With every step, breath, pulse that we are making
The moment we are waking
You always live through us
Now, don’t stop fighting – we’re beside you
Keep the strength inside you
And with your eyes, you will find us soon
‘Cause we are lost here without you

As I’m searching along Lake Drive and I see so many people going about their ways, I keep saying to myself that I’m doing this for God, for the Hecht family, and because this could be one of my kids and I would hope that strangers might do the same for me. I’m praying for Tom as well.
Bob and Family,
I have been praying daily for you and will continue to do so. Pleases know that my thoughts are with you.
To the Hecht family and friends of Tom,
I do not know Tom but this story has stuck with me ever since I heard about it. I look for any signs of anything on my walk to work every day. Has anyone searched the area behind Water St? There is the old Pabst brewery and a lot of vacant land/abandoned buildings. I pray for Tom’s safe return to his loved ones. You are all in my prayers.
Can you get some friends to go with you and do this?
Julia,
I walk this area daily on my way to work. I also walk during lunch with co-workers. We will look for any signs on our walks. My prayers are strong.
Would also gladly donate to a fund towards a reward for information leading to the finding of Tom. You remain in my thoughts and prayers.
Has an acount been set up at a local bank for donations that the family can use for hiring a private investigator or to schedule a telephone appointment with a nationaly known psychic such as Slyvia Browne? I know she has helped others. Or for any other use by the family. I, for one, would be more than happy to help with the donations. My prayers and thoughts continue with Bob and his family.
Bob, I’m praying for Tom, you, Shelly and Chloe daily and prn.

Your friends,
–Bob & Constance
Chloe, my heart goes out to you and your family and loved ones and friends, I pray daily for the safe return of Tommy. I have passed Tommy’s story along to many friends who also pray daily for Tommy and his loved ones and pass it along to others as well. Stay strong my friend, I feel the strength of all of you and the power of prayer and the love pouring out of everyone’s hearts and I know Tommy is feeling it too and pray it guides him home.
I have known Tom for many years! He is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I pray for his safe return! After doing some research on similar cases I came across this website http://footprintsattheriversedge.blogspot.com. I don’t know if this will help at all but it does have a list of resources for the family!
I am not a close friend of Tom’s but more of an acquaintance but I’ve known him for 10+ years, played soccer with him, and drank a couple beers together, I know he’s a great guy and hope that he makes it home to his family and girlfriend Ali soon.
I do not know Tom or the Hecht Family but I have friends and family that do. I have thought of him each and every day since he has been missing. There are many strangers like myself praying for the Hecht Family, for Tom, and his safe return. God bless. Stay strong and positive.
I’ve never met Tom but I’m sure we’ve crossed paths in Milwaukee. I am constantly checking for updates on Tom’s return and hope it will be soon. His family, friends, and girlfriend are in my thoughts. Stay strong! You are doing the best you can possibly do and your efferts are not unnoticed. Please return home safely, Tom. Your people, community, and world need you! I will keep spreading the word and checking for updates. He will be found
I am so sorry to hear Tom is missing…went through a similar situation with a missing relative he was missing for 3 yrs thanks to fliers posted at truck stops and rest areas plus trying to track him by his social security number he was found alive about 2 hrs away.He was fine but he could have somehow notified his family so we didn’t have to worry for 3 yrs!so please don’t give up hope! If you have access to his credit card numbers or bank account maybe you could see if there has been any activity in cases like this hiring a private investigator even though the Police are on the case…. never hurts to have another eye out!!…. wish I still lived in Milw then I could do more!! I hope he will return home soon!! if I can think of anymore info that could be helpful I will post.God Bless!
Still thinking about your family, praying for answers and sharing in every outlet I can think of every single day.
I’ve never had the opportunity to meet Tom, his family or any of his friends, but you are all in my thoughts and prayers each and every day. Doing everything I can to help by passing the word along through Facebook, twitter and posting fliers. Praying for a safe return home, Tom!
